A beautiful story
For many years, the coffee-producing communities living and working on the Tacaná volcano (Chiapas, Mexico) were at the mercy of intermediaries, commonly known in Mexico as coyotes.
Nowadays, these communities can live from their work, send their children to school, and have a fruitful life. Their coffee is 100% organic, has obtained a Rainforest Alliance certification, developed a blockchain platform, and has become a case study at Harvard University.
We visited the communities for the first time in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the people, the place, and the project.

Rast kaffee,
a familiy roasting tradition.
In TLAKO, we believe that coffee roasting is an art of its own. As such, we confide this delicate process to our favourite roasters, RAST.
Over a 100 years of experience, quality and passion describe the RAST family tradition.
We are happy and proud to roast this beautiful coffee with Evelyn, Beatrice and Adrian, the fourth generation of this dynamic, yet traditional company. As they say: “Wir Leben Kaffee” (We live coffee). Indeed, they do.
